New High Efficiency Trane System
We replaced two complete systems with Trane XL6i two-stage A/C units, XV80 variable speed furnaces and high efficiency air cleaners. The Dutch style home was originally built in 1929 and presented a few challenges for us. The previous HVAC contactor installed the upper level furnace in the attic facing the roofline which made it almost impossible to service. At some point someone piled insulation in front of the furnace making it even more difficult to access. We repositioned the new furnace and installed plywood decking for easier and safer access. Notice you can actually see the furnace now. The A/C units were propped up by bricks on a slopping patio. We framed and poured a solid concrete pad for the units to sit on, look’s much nicer now. The main level furnace had pipes and wires hanging everywhere. Notice how everything is neatly strapped in place now. One of the biggest eyesores was the way the copper tubing was installed along the outside wall. We re-routed where we could and built a cover to hide the rest of the tubing. An older home like this one was not originally designed for central cooling but we don’t want it to look like an afterthought with exposed piping outside. This customer is extremely happy with the results and so are we.
